Tomcat Support
Q) HELP!!!! We've just upgraded to a new version of Tomcat and our http://www.mycom.com/servlet/ProductionServlet no longer works, the site's down and our client is going bananas. See here for the explanation
This represents a classic example of a support query we see. While Tomcat is an powerful and
immensely popular open source Servlet/Jsp container which can bring extraordinary
benefits when used within your web infrastructure, it still remains an open source project with
all the characteristics of open source software. Lack of documentation, or worse inaccurate,
uncommented changes in features, no true support apart from a mailing list and no redress
if things go awray. The high level of traffic which passes through the Tomcat support mailing
lists indicates that many have had serious and frustrating problems (often very expensive)
using Tomcat.
As veterans in providing Java support and hosting using Tomcat we provide ongoing support for enterprises who use
Tomcat within their technical infrastructure.
Some of the most common support requirements are enumerated below:
- Deployment of Tomcat
- Apache / Tomcat integration using web connector(s)
- Configuration of web applications
- Automated Startup / Shutdown
- JNDI Resource configuration
- Unexpected stack traces
- Non-neutrality issues - runs on dev. but not on live.
- Troubleshooting
We also provide per incident support at £99 per incident.
Please see Table 1 for ongoing support agreements:
